Team Partners Completes Recapitalization with Pie Tap Pizza + Rotisserie + Bar

TEAM Partners, LLC, a Dallas-based private investment firm, announced that it has completed a recapitalization of Pie Tap Pizza + Rotisserie + Bar (“Pie Tap” or the “Company”) in partnership with Rich Hicks, founder and CEO of Pie Tap, who retains a meaningful ownership stake and Mark Rogers, a long-time restaurant operator. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Pie Tap, an Italian inspired, Dallas-based concept with seven locations in the DFW Metroplex, was founded in 2016 by Rich Hicks to create a differentiated neighborhood pizza and pasta concept using fresh, high-quality ingredients served in an elevated environment. The artisan menu is anchored around a 300-year-old proprietary dough starter that uses only four ingredients: flour, water, olive oil, and salt, with no commercial yeast or fillers. In addition to pizza, the menu features pastas, salads, baked-to-order sandwiches, appetizers, and craft cocktails. Each location offers a warm, inviting atmosphere and features a workshop-inspired design with industrial touches and high-end finishes, including two pizza ovens and an open bar.

Rich Hicks, Pie Tap’s founder and CEO, has 40+ years in the industry and was the founder of numerous concepts including Tin Star, MOOYAH Burgers and Fries, Ojos Locos Sports Cantina, The Mexican, and Evelyn. On what makes Pie Tap unique, Hicks commented, “Our dough really sets us apart and requires extra focus and attention to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests.” Hicks added, “I am excited about the future of Pie Tap and am confident we found the right investor group as we enter the next phase of growth for the Company.”
